I have been an allergy sufferer all my life.
I am allergic to cat hair, pollen, and dust to name just a few of my triggers. I definitely feel it more in the spring when things start blooming and floating around.
Sometimes my allergies are triggered when I’m invited over at a friend’s house for dinner, but then I encounter their cat. Which triggers my allergies so badly that I either have to leave early or it just ends up ruining my whole night as my symptoms leave me miserable. I once went to a horse show and the dust and hair was so bad, I had to leave within 30 minutes of arriving.
If I’m sleeping somewhere with no air conditioning, with the windows open or when I’m away camping, my allergies kick-in at around 10 PM at night making it difficult to fall asleep or at 6 AM in the morning waking me up early.
My symptoms usually start with itchy, watery eyes, and sneezing. I’ve learned a few things over the years that have helped with my symptoms. So I’ve partnered up with Xyzal® Allergy 24 HR to share my best tips for fighting your allergies, so you can be your best self.
1) Keep Your Windows Closed
Especially at around 10 PM and 6 AM when the trees start to pollinate or when the evening breeze is blowing around a lot of pollen. Make a point of keeping your windows closed so you can keep the allergens out.
2) Wash Your Sheets Often
Washing your sheets often and with hot water will help fight dust mites or any dust-related allergy triggers. This especially helps if allergens transfer from the outside, onto your clothes and then onto your bed.
3) Take Your Shoes Off + Vacuum Often
Do you wear your shoes at home or around the house? Make a point of taking your shoes off at the door before tracking any dirt or pollen into the house. You’ll also want to vacuum often to eliminate any allergens you may have brought into the house through your shoes or clothes.
4) Check Your Filters
Do you have a forced air system in your home? Make sure you change your air filters regularly so they are doing the best job possible to trap pollen, animal hair, dirt and dust.
5) Take an Allergy Pill
Lastly, take an allergy pill so you can finally get some relief and not have to fight your symptoms all the time. Xyzal® Allergy 24 HR is an over-the-counter allergy medicine available at CVS Pharmacy that provides relief from itchy, watery eyes, sneezing, runny nose or an itchy throat. It’s relief that doesn’t fade and will carry you through a whole day – clinically proven to start working in 60 minutes.
So you can hang out with your friend’s cat or go on that camping trip! Not only that, but with allergy relief you can sleep better and have a more productive and comfortable day.
Xyzal does come in a 10-count box if you only suffer from occasional allergies, but it is also available in a 35, 55 and 80 count boxes.
Xyzal is now available over-the-counter at your local CVS Pharmacy.
