Top 10 Bachelorette Party Ideas – Miami
Updated January 14th, 2016
Planning a bachelorette party to Miami and South Beach?
You’re in luck! I just got back from an amazing girls weekend to celebrate the bride-to-be, Ms. Jessica Blaine Smith before her big day in April. How did we settle on Miami? It’s not Vegas. We wanted a more low-key beach vacation and a chance to chill out together after the crazy rush of Christmas.
Here are a few suggestions for planning your own bachelorette party to Miami for your best girlfriend:
1) Book A LOT of Dinners
Going to Miami on a busy weekend? Gurrrl, you better make those reservations now – especially if you’re heading down there with a big group. Before you book your dates for Miami, make sure there’s no crazy festival driving up hotel prices the weekend you decide to go. A few of my choice picks for dinner in South Beach / Miami include:
- PubBelly – Small plates of goodness, Asian-fusion
- Mandolin Aegean Restaurant – Greek food at this local spot
- Yarbird Southern Table & Bar – The BEST fried chicken ever.
- Cecconi’s at SoHo House – Italian food
- The Bazaar by Jose Andres – Molecular gastronomy
- Scarpetta – Italian
- Joe’s Stone Crab – Seafood
- Mr. Chow – Chinese food
- SushiSamba – Fusion sushi
- Nobu Miami – Fancy sushi
- Lure Fishbar – Great for seafood, sushi and the best burger
2) Do a Fancy Brunch
Plan a fancy Sunday farewell brunch at one of these top Miami picks with all the girls from your bachelorette. Some restaurants also do a Saturday weekend brunch, so you might be able to squeeze in two!
- Hakkasan – They do a mean dim sum prix fixe menu on Sundays
- Cecconi’s – THE brunch in South Beach to be seen and to people watch
- Bayside Restaurant & Grill – Gorgeous view of The Bay at The Standard Hotel with a pretty healthy and varied brunch menu. Plus you can hit the spa after!
3) Dranks.
We didn’t go crazy with the clubbing, but LIV is ranked one of the top nightclubs in the world and since you’re going to be in Miami – you should go. However talk to your concierge to strategize the best way to get everyone in without having to wait in line. Bottle service might be key here.
We stuck to mainly fancy cocktail bars that made all their juices and syrups from scratch and kept the fun and conversation going as we bar-hopped all night. A few of our favourites:
- LIV Nightclub – If you’re thinking of going clubbing, this is the best place.
- The Broken Shaker – Ranked as one of the top cocktail bars in the world. Proper cocktails on a hip patio behind a funky hostel.
- The Regent Cocktail Club – Tucked away at the back inside The Gale Hotel, they make classic cocktails from a well-curated menu.
- The Setai – One of the prettiest courtyards to sip cocktails on + delicious homemade potato chips!
- The Rum Line – Delicious tiki-inspired drinks on this lovely patio at Loews Hotel
- The SkyBar – A gorgeous Moroccan-themed garden at the Shore Hotel with a nice chill vibe.
4) Yoga / Barre Classes – Exhale Yoga + Barre is where I worked out while I was in Miami and I did their daily yoga or barre classes. The studio is a bit small (book ahead), but the classes are great. You also get access to the gym at Loews Hotel as well as a fancy steam room and whirlpool with your class fee (about $20). It’s a great place to relax and a rainy-day plan for the group.
If you’re into spinning, you might want to check out a class at Flywheel while you’re in Miami and squeeze in a workout with the girls.
5) Book a Kick-ass Hotel Suite
For our group of girls, we ended up booking a penthouse suite at Loews South Beach. It was a better value than having us each book our own rooms, plus we had a vast space to hang out in and could spend quality time together. Our suite also featured a wet bar, kitchenette, 2 bathrooms, a living room and a massive patio. We chose this hotel because they have a beautiful pool and was next to the beach.
If you’re looking for something more boutique and affordable, try Hotel St. Augustine. It’s incredibly cute, but does not have a swimming pool – but the beach is close by!
6) Shopping
- Lincoln Road Mall – Lots of stores, cafes and restaurants along this pedestrian strip. You’ll find a few cute boutiques and typical American brands as well.
- Bal Harbour Shops – The fancy, high-end shopping mall where you’ll find your Chanel, Prada, D&G. It’s fun to window shop here.
7) Casual Eats + Lunches
- Shake Shack – One of my favourite NYC burgers joints has a South Beach outpost!
- Maoz Vegetarian – Falafel salad bar
- Lauduree – Yes, there’s a macaron shop from the famed Paris macaron brand Lauduree. Go for dessert and bring home a few as souvenirs.
8) Chippendales – If you time Miami right, you may be able to catch a touring production of the Chippendales when they perform at Mansion at Miami. I’m sure it would be good for a few laughs! The website is a bit vague – so do call for more info.
9) The Standard Spa – Offers incredible programming if you’re looking for a yoga retreat. I also highly recommend booking your massages + a spa day here. The outdoor water circuit, DIY mud bar and hammam room are very unique. Plus you get access to their pool and you can lounge here all day as a spa guest.
10) Manis/Pedis – If you’re looking for a more casual spa experience for your bachelorette, consider booking a mani/pedi spa at the start of the weekend so everyone can get all caught up and aquainted. Try one of these spots:
Nailed – A hip little studio for an inexpensive mani/pedi
Uhma Spa – An organic spa in Miami Beach
Lapis – Fancy spa inside The Fontainebleau Hotel
Bliss Spa – Located inside the W South Beach (above)
